hosts an interactive map of the world showing air pollution in real time. You can move anywhere around the globe and zoom in and out.
The air pollution is measured using the Air Quality Index (AQI), which takes into account the five major air pollutants: ground-level ozone, particle pollution, carbon monoxide, sulfur dioxide, and nitrogen dioxide.
The map also shows winds, a major factor in the shifting levels of air pollution.
If you click on a point, you get its coordinates, the direction and speed of the wind, and the concentration of fine particles (PM2.5). These are really dangerous because are very small and can penetrate into the lungs.
Check the map to know the level of air pollution in your area. If you take screenshots of the page regularly, you can track the changes, especially as seasons also change.
